Programs & Events

The Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce hosts events and programs designed to meet the varied needs of our membership. As a member you have the opportunity to build your business network, learn from respected industry professionals and gain insight into pertinent issues affecting Simpsonville's future.

The Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce offers numerous opportunities to foster involvement, education, exposure, and access for its members. Those programs are highlighted below.

Networking

The Chamber holds several monthly networking events to help members expand their circle of contacts to give them a competitive edge and help them grow their business.

Public Policy

The role of the Chamber in public policy is to help ensure that local and state government policies and decisions support a strong business climate, quality growth, and economic opportunity.

Education

The Education Committee is dedicated to strengthening the partnership between local businesses and Simpsonville area schools.

Leadership

Leadership Simpsonville opens doors for local business men and women and community leaders with the desire and ability to shape its future. Through face-to-face meetings with local and state leaders and on-site visits to local institutions, agencies and organizations, participants explore major issues and unique challenges facing the Simpsonville area.

The selection committee is looking for active community members. Some of the topics include Arts & History, Non-Profit, Public Safety and State Government.  The program will begin in March 2011. Deadline for applications is February 28, 2011.

Simpsonville Young Professionals

Simpsonville Young Professionals (SYP) is an organization designed to provide opportunities for young professionals to develop a personal network, to grow professionally, and to succeed in business while enhancing the community's quality of life. SYP offers social-networking, business development, and community service projects.

Main Street Chapter

This group promotes and protects the interests of businesses in the Main Street area. This group meets on the first Friday of every month at the Senior and Activity Center at 9am.

Tourism and Hospitality

The Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce's Tourism and Hospitality Focus Group was formed recognizing the importance that this critical segment plays in the local economy.  The group meets on a regular basis to exchange information on meetings and conventions in our area, explore new ideas promoting our area as a tourism and conference destination, and to hear informative speakers on the latest tourism topics.

Diplomats

The Diplomats are a group of volunteers serving in a year-round effort as representatives of the Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce to maintain contact with active members.

The primary purpose of the Diplomats is to make personal contact with assigned Chamber members.  A list will be furnished to each Diplomat to contact assigned members at least one time a month.  Personal contact is much more effective; however, telephone contact may be your only option of contact.

Chamber Signature Events

The Chamber holds four signature events every year including a Christmas Parade, Annual Banquet, Golf Tournament and Labor Day festival.

BuildU

Build U was created to address the educational needs of area businesses.  The seminars are designed to help each business owner succeed and help business professionals gain an edge in today's market.  Whether brushing up on existing skills or learning something new, all attendees will leave more informed and better prepared.
